The Physical Sciences sectionassesses problem-solving ability in general chemistry and physicsand the Biological Sciences section evaluates these abilities inthe areas of biology and organic chemistry. The Verbal Reasoningsection evaluates the ability to understand, evaluate, and applyinformation and arguments presented in prose style. The BiologicalSciences section most directly correlates to success on the USMLEStep 1 exam, with a correlation coefficient of .553 vs .491 forPhysical Sciences and .397 for Verbal Reasoning.
